First, I think it is awesome I can put my PS2 games on the HDD. That actually kicks a lot of ass.
However, from the title, I suspected they might have fixed the REAL problem with BC, and that is the downscaling. I read each item carefully, and while I can save my PS2 game to the harddrive, it still looks like a piece of blocky crap.

A total fanboy article? I have been amazed everytime I have played Metal Gear Solid 3 on the PS3. It is horrendous. Seriously. How is it possible for a game to look WORSE on a new Next-Gen console. I bought Bully, and it was t he same story. It doesn't hamper gameplay, but it sure as hell dampens immersion. You sit there and look at your 50 inch HD Plasma using the HDMI input and think that it looks worse than the PS2 hooked up to a SDTV. It is sad.

The PS3 sitting in my entertainment center DOES look great. It is very shiny. Resistance, however, does not look as good as I expected. After playing Gears of War, Resistance was underwhelming. However, once I got further into the game, I was impressed with how much crap was going on onscreen at one time.

Well, the PS3 sure enough runs all of the old software. For all of those PS1 games I still have laying around. Oh, wait... none.
But I threw in Metal Gear Solid 3, and this game looked better on the PS2. That is ridiculous. However, when I play Halo 2 in my 360, it looks the same or better. At a bare minimum, I don't have to wince at the NEW blockiness of a beautiful video game.
